When Nortel Networks launched their Fast Internet Technology modem product line in Canada, they needed a French Canadian translation timed to coincide with television placements in Quebec. Deadlines were such that their agency, Brandscape of New York, couldn't wait for client approval of the English version before asking us to localize it to French. So we went ahead with the text translation, delivered the image translations to Brandscape's designers for production, and localized the SQL and AS P content. This took 5 days.
The next phase lasted about 10 calendar days, during which Brandscape delivered 6 revisions to the original material! We used our site maintenance tools Cypher® Version Control to track and report changes to the English, and Cypher Memory to reuse the existing, approved translation wherever applicable. In this manner we kept up with Brandscape's revision schedule while maintaining high quality and saving cost and time.
