In early 1996,
founded Weblations, S.L. in Barcelona to serve the newly emerging market for the translation of corporate websites. His focus is on developing the software tools and the document flow that permit Weblations to translate and maintain large and rapidly changing multilingual websites in some two-dozen languages.
A graduate of Yale University (B.A., History), Robert moved from the United States to Barcelona in 1995 after a career in professional sailing in which he participated as coach in 3 Olympic Games (16 medals) and competitor and manager in 4 America's Cups. For ten years, his ergonomic designs for onboard navigation systems were considered the most innovative and effective in real racing situations. He applies that same focus on human factors to Weblations Cypher® and Workspace®, the applications that he designs for project managers and linguists to use at Weblations. Robert is married to the Spanish sailing gold medalist Patricia Guerra Cabrera. They are proud parents of three toddlers.
