Marrying your language with our technology

We've been so busy lately that we got lazy and neglected to update our clients page. Some of our newer, unlisted projects include L'Oréal, Dollar Rent A Car, the portable computer solutions provider Targus, and the luxury accommodation site The Leading Hotels of the World. For just these four projects, we worked in 15 target languages!

The problem of translating and adapting your message to new audiences in foreign markets is hardly a new one, but translating a website is. If you've already invested in translators for print media, packaging, manuals and the like, then perhaps the best way to translate your website is to marry your translators with our technology. Your translators simply use the Weblations Workspace®, the same translation tool that our linguists use, while we handle all the technical and linguistic project management, engineering, pre- and post-processing and art production issues.

nurun, the new media agency chosen by the cosmetics firm L'Oréal to revamp loreal.com in Canadian English and Canadian French, opted for this hybrid solution. nurun's translation agency was already familiar with all the branding issues involved, but they needed an efficient way to localize the editorial content without being distracted by or damaging the surrounding HTML code.

We processed the hundreds of HTML files that made up the site, used Weblations Cypher® to remove and store the HTML code, and generated Weblations Workspace documents for nurun's linguists. The linguists found our document format and the Workspace very easy to use -- as well they should. After all, for five years we've been using and perfecting the Workspace in our own shop to improve the quality and speed of the turnkey services we deliver.

If you're not sure whether to use your translators or ours -- or a little of both -- why not contact us to discuss your needs? We can show you the alternatives in terms of responsibility, difficulty, turnaround and price, and help you make the best decision for your organization.

President, Weblations
