Multilingual Site Maintenance

Successful websites are modified on a regular basis. For multilingual sites, that can create a maintenance headache unless the tools and team are in place to synchronize changes across every language. Weblations is uniquely positioned to provide this service.

Version Control

Having performed the initial translation to any number of target languages, we profile your site on a periodic basis to track changes and additions. Cypher® Version Control creates a report listing the status of every HTML file on your site as New, Deleted, Modified or Same. You can use this overview to select pages for updating, and to track costs against your maintenance budget.

By using Cypher Version Control, you can avoid the headache of developing and implementing you own version control process. Many people can contribute to the source language version of your site without need for a centralized coordination process for the target languages.

Memory

Translation memory is the ability to re-use an existing translation in new material. Most professional translation software applications use some form of translation memory. It is especially useful for translating software manuals and other texts that are published in highly repetitive editions.

Cypher Memory is translation memory applied to websites, implemented in the distributed team environment of our translate - edit - final review workflow. To our knowledge, it is the only example of translation memory developed specifically for websites. We use it on every project and all left-right languages, including double-byte languages.

Cypher Memory is so agile that we've used it to synchronize our translations with clients' changes to the original material in the final days before the launch of websites under deadline pressure.
